These machines weigh about 85 lbs and are about 32" tall x 18" wide and 12" deep. This machine is the most popular machine in the Japanese Pachislo parlors today! This is a conversion of Sammy corporations popular arcade slot machine based upon the Japanese anime franchise Hokuto no Ken (Fist of the North Star). The story goes thus: There is a martial art called Hokuto Shin Ken which is passed down from father to son in order to keep the world safe in times of crisis. Master Ryuuken has no family, so he takes in four orphans to train up as the new heir to the art. Sadly it soon becomes apparent that most of his choices are bad. Jagi is a coward who prefers a shotgun to his fists, Raoh is a horrifying megalomaniac and Toki is a pacifist who wants to use Hokuto for healing, is likely to doom the world at the first possible opportunity by leaping into a lava pool to save a puppy. The basic game play mechanic involves watching Kenshiro walk slowly along the post-apocalyptic desert as the reels spin and bring about random events. Along the way he is joined by his companions from the series, who will walk slowly along with him. They walk. They look grumpy. They trip over things. Every so often an old man stumbles past them only to have his one possession (a dirty blanket) blown away from the wind, while Kenshiro stares at him with an expression. Once you've been playing for a while, you're likely to get into a fight. This usually involves popping the heads of random characters but every so often one of Ken's rivals (Shin, Jagi or Sauzer) will show up for a fight. When this happens Ken's expression changes from "Grump" to excitement. Then everything freezes, a voice shouts "THE TWENTY TWO FINGER TWIDDLEPOKE OF THE NORTH STAR!" and (more often than not) you go back to the regular round.
There are 4 speakers in this machine totaling almost 40 watts of deep powerful sound. The play is fantastic and is just like an XBOX or Nintendo type play! From time to time you will have battles with the various characters. This is truly one of the best machines to be released to the US today.
